I began experimenting with sugar art 15 years ago, as a creative outlet. I enjoyed creating chocolate dough figurines, and sculpted cakes for my Grandchildren's birthdays. When I started exploring this art form, there was minimal online info, such as You Tube, or Pinterest. Beyond simple classes at Michael's, there were no local teachers or suppliers of culinary tools. It just wasn't being done in our area.

I was extremely interested in improving my skills, so I talked to pastry artists all over the world on Yahoo News Groups. I purchased recommended books and videos, ordered tools from England, Australia, and NYC. I gathered information and taught myself to do the kind of work they were doing in large metropolitan areas.

Who knew this would evolve into a Cake Shop of my own? Cake Art continues to be a wonderful way to express my artistry and connect to the positive energy of people honoring their loved ones with edible art.

With Sweet Regards,                                                Margi
